From Hamilton to the Nations: 12 Years of Street Evangelism and the Harvest Ahead

By Daniel Ziedins · · 8 min read

Light breaking through cloud over a wide Canadian landscape

Every movement that ever shook a nation looked embarrassingly small on its first day. Ours was two people, a few cups of coffee, and a question. I want to tell you what God has done with that question — not to celebrate us, but because I believe the story is about to get much bigger, and I believe some of you are meant to be in the next chapter of it.

Here at God Heal Our Land we pray 2 Chronicles 7:14 over Canada. This post is about what happens after the prayer — when the people who knelt for their land stand up and walk into it.

Do not despise the day of small things

In 2014, Katie and I did not launch a ministry. We started walking downtown Hamilton with coffee and asking strangers one thing: “Can we pray with you for anything?” That was Love on Hamilton. No stage, no budget, no plan beyond the next conversation.

When the exiles rebuilt the temple, the foundation looked so small that the old men wept. God's answer through the prophet was a question: “Who dares despise the day of small things?” (Zechariah 4:10). I have held on to that verse for twelve years. God does not measure a work by how it starts. He measures it by what He intends to make of it.

“The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly.”

— Isaiah 60:22

Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria — and the ends of the earth

Before He ascended, Jesus drew the map of the mission in one sentence: “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). It starts at home and it does not stop. Looking back, that is exactly the shape God has given this work.

  • Jerusalem — Hamilton. More than twenty weekly outreach teams now go out on their own, and more than fifty people come together each week to evangelize in our city. Salvations and baptisms are regular testimonies of God's grace, not rare ones.
  • Judea — the cities around us. Love on The World carried the same street-level love to a dozen cities, from Niagara and Brantford to Guelph and Waterloo Region, and as far as Moncton, New Brunswick. Any believer can start a group in their own city.
  • Samaria — the whole city at once. The Jesus Festival gathers thousands in Gage Park to worship and hear the gospel, free and open to everyone. September 2026 was its third year.
  • The ends of the earth — the next assignment. Through our partnership with e3 Canada and I Am Second, Katie and I have set our hearts on helping establish one hundred multiplying outreach groups, anywhere and everywhere around the world.

Somewhere along the way Overflow began too — a Sunday evening service launched in 2022 where the Holy Spirit is given full permission to move. Every one of these began as a small yes that God would not leave small.

What “impact” actually means

Numbers help you see the shape of a thing, but they are not the point. The point is a person — the one in front of you on the sidewalk, the one who has not been asked their name in a week, the one who said yes to prayer and is suddenly closer to saying yes to Jesus than they have ever been.

“I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”

— Luke 15:7

Heaven throws a party over one. That is the true unit of impact. Every team, every city, every festival is only a way of reaching more of the ones — and a healed land is simply a land where enough of the ones have come home.

We pray for the land on our knees. We reach it one person at a time.

Salt and light in the culture: SIX33

Jesus did not only send His followers to the streets. He told them they were salt and light — present in the places where culture is actually made. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14).

That is the heart behind SIX33, a brand I have been building and which is coming very soon. It began in 2014 as Seek First and is being rebuilt as SIX33 — a lifestyle and performance brand for people who refuse to waste their potential, built openly on one verse: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33).

SIX33 exists to glorify God and impact culture for His Kingdom — in sport, in creativity, in the places the church is often absent. And a big part of its heart is giving: it is being built to raise funds for Love on The World, so that as the brand grows, the outreach grows with it. Culture reached, and streets reached, from the same root.

The four friends on the roof

There is a story in Mark 2 I think about every time someone asks how they can help. A paralysed man could not get to Jesus. So four friends carried him, and when the crowd blocked the door, they climbed onto the roof, dug through it, and lowered him down at Jesus' feet. Then comes the line that undoes me: “When Jesus saw their faith” (Mark 2:5). Their faith. Plural. The man was healed because of what four people did together.

Paul says the same thing in the language of farming: “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow” (1 Corinthians 3:6). Nobody brings in the harvest alone. Someone goes, someone prays, someone gives — and God gives the growth. Partnership is not a fundraising word. It is how the Bible says the Kingdom advances.

How you can be part of the next chapter

  • Pray. Pray for the hundred groups, for the teams going out this week, and for the people they will meet who do not yet know Jesus. Post a prayer on the God Heal Our Land prayer wall and pray for Canada with us.
  • Go. Join a Love on The World group near you, start one in your city, or ask Katie and me to come and equip your church. The training is built for ordinary believers and it ends on the street, not in a classroom.
  • Partner monthly. Monthly partners let us plan and go further. Giving happens through our e3 Canada profile, and we pray for our partners by name, every day.
  • Carry it into culture. Join the SIX33 Inner Circle at SIX33.World and be part of a brand built to seek first and give back.

“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.”

— Habakkuk 2:14

Lord, thank You for every one You have brought home in this city. Do it again, and do it in more cities than we can count. Heal our land by saving its people. Raise up workers, open doors no one can shut, and let the knowledge of Your glory cover this nation and the nations as the waters cover the sea. Here we are. Send us. In Jesus' name.

How does God Heal Our Land connect to evangelism?

2 Chronicles 7:14 promises that God will heal the land when His people humble themselves, pray, seek His face and turn from their wicked ways. A land is made of people, so the deepest healing a nation can receive is its people coming home to God. Prayer and evangelism belong together: Jesus told His disciples to pray for workers, then sent the people who prayed.
